Prayer, Voice of the Human Spirit

The Ratna Ling Stupa

Dedicated to the Longevity of Tarthang Tulku,

founder of Dharma Publishing

Practice

The Stupa offers a place to practice, to confess wrongdoing, to make offerings, to take or renew vows, to enter a new life, and to commit yourself to the path of awakening the heart. Practice at a Stupa opens new ways of understanding and realization and invites a flow of blessings. You can take these blessings back with you into daily life, where they will work from within to transform your way of being.

Within the sacred precinct of the Stupa, the memory and blessings of the Buddha and the Enlightened Lineage manifest freely, shaping the forces of the cosmos toward peace and harmony and inviting the blessings of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. The power and merit of the Stupa pervade the ten directions of space and the three times, benefiting all beings on this planet as well as unseen spirits of invisible realms.

Dedication: Ceremonies and Candle Lighting

After having requested blessings for your self, you can extend it to others, parents, children, family member and friends and beyond to all sentient beings. You may like to dedicate a ceremony to a specific person who is facing hard times, illness, old age and death. You can even dedicate a stupa ceremony and bell ringing to a specific person, deceased, recently or some time ago.

Ceremonies: The Ratna Ling community holds services four times a month:  The new moon, full moon, the 10th day of the lunar calendar, and the 25th day of the lunar calendar.  We are happy to include your loved ones in our services.  For about one hour the community chants and reads wishing prayers out loud for those in need, for the healing of sickness, and for rebirth in fortunate circumstances for the deceased. We are now ready and able to chant prayers for your loved ones.

Your support of $108 per ceremony helps us maintain the golden appearance of this longevity stupa, which supports the power of the prayers and their effectiveness in time and space.  During the ceremony, the bronze bell is rung 25 times. Since the sound is auspicious and carries over a great distance, it conveys the blessings of comfort and caring to those designated as beneficiaries. We will gladly dedicate a bell ringing to a person of your choice.

Candle Lighting: Every day, the Ratna Ling community offers one hundred and eight lights at the longevity stupa just outside the Dharma Publishing offices. Through this act of devotion, we honor the Buddha Shakymuni, whose wisdom and compassion brought into our world light that dispels the darkness of samsara. In offering light to the Buddha, we invite the blessings of the Enlightened Ones to penetrate the darkest reaches of time and space and benefit all beings, seen and unseen. The merit of these offerings, especially when performed at a stupa on land consecrated to the Dharma, generates merit and blessings.

For $10/day, or $300/month, we will dedicate the merit of these offerings to your mother and father, children and relatives and friends or whom ever you wish to sustain them in good and hard times.
